Jono joined Lion as New Zealand Legal Counsel in 2012 before moving to Lion in Sydney the following year where he supported Lion’s various Australian operations.  Jono moved back to New Zealand at the start of 2018 to assume the role of General Counsel – Lion New Zealand and Little World Beverages.   Jono’s role has him sitting on the executive team for two of Lion’s business units: Little World Beverages, Lion’s fast-growing international business with operations in the UK, USA and Asia, and its well-established New Zealand business (home of Speight’s, Steinlager, Havana, Wither Hills, Panhead and various other household brands).  The dual role requires managing two very distinct teams with different strategic visions and ways of operating, and working across multiple jurisdictions.  Jono is responsible for the management of all legal issues across both business units resulting in a wide variety of work. A core part of Jono’s role over the last three years have been driving Lion’s organic and inorganic growth, including managing numerous NZ, UK and US winery and brewery acquisitions.
