Charles Bolt was appointed to his current role in October 2013, having joined Fletcher Building as corporate legal counsel in 2002.

He has been closely involved in the Company’s corporate initiatives in that time, in particular major acquisitions and divestments, and the establishment of the global employee share schemes.

He was also instrumental in the establishment of the Fletcher Building Legal and Fletcher Building Property teams.

Prior to this, he spent eight years at Bell Gully working on mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and managed funds matters.

Charles holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington and has completed the Senior Executive Programme at Columbia University in New York.

Prior to ANZ he has held senior roles, working as Assistant General Counsel at Telecom and working in financial services in London for 10 years, including working for global funds management company Henderson Global Investors.

Hayley has completed post-graduate study in corporate governance, risk, compliance, advanced negotiation skills and mediation, and shortly commences study at Harvard Business School. Hayley is Chief General Counsel at Bank of New Zealand, and leads the BNZ legal services function.

Andrew Cordner is Director of Legal at Fonterra. In this role, Andrew serves as Fonterra’s General Counsel and leads the highly experienced Fonterra Global Legal Team of 25 lawyers based in New Zealand, Australia, China, Chile, the United States, and Brazil. The team provides legal support to New Zealand’s largest company with diverse international operations and sales into over 140 markets.  Andrew is responsible for driving the strategy, performance and direction of the Global Legal Team, for legal advice provided to the Fonterra Board, management and the various Fonterra business units, and for leading the external relationships of the Legal Team, including with law firms, auditors, and regulators.

Prior to joining Fonterra in 2007, Andrew was a partner at Foley Hoag LLP, a leading US corporate law firm  (with offices in Boston, New York, Washington DC, and Paris) specialising in corporate and commercial advisory work, venture capital, bankruptcy, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, and international transactions. He has a LL.B (Hons) and B.Com from Canterbury University and an LL.M from Duke University School of Law.  Andrew is currently a member of the NZ Law Society’s National Standards Committee, which investigates and considers complaints that are sufficiently major or complex or of public interest or importance to the NZ legal profession.  When he is not busy lawyering, Andrew can be seen ferrying his three children to and from sports, dance and other events and activities, working on his Northland lifestyle block, trying his best to understand what his wife does as a software engineer for a small software start-up, emulating Roger Federer’s one-handed backhand (poorly), and making awesome birthday cakes.

Jaya Prasannan is an experienced in-house lawyer with additional expertise in governance. Jaya is currently General Manager – Corporate Services & General Counsel at NZ Compare and S.L.I.C.E. Digital, two Auckland based digital disruptors. She leads a team responsible for legal affairs, finance and human resources functions. Prior to joining NZ Compare and S.L.I.C.E. Digital, Jaya was in-house counsel for a number of large NZ businesses. Jaya also spent 5 years in private practice and in-house in London, where she hails from. In addition, Jaya is the Deputy Chair of the Youth Hostel Association of New Zealand Inc. She has been admitted as a solicitor in New Zealand, England & Wales and Australia.

Jaya holds a B.A. (Hons) in Natural Sciences & Psychology from the University of Cambridge and subsequently attended Nottingham Law School to complete her postgraduate legal studies. She is currently studying towards an MBA from the University of Auckland. Jaya is a member of the Institute of Directors New Zealand through which she has completed additional study in governance.

Outside of work, Jaya’s interests include travel, sport and connecting with family and friends. She has lived in Austria and Spain in addition to the UK and New Zealand and has visited over 50 countries to date.

Melissa Soh-Newstead is a highly experienced UK qualified,  NZ trained lawyer with over 20 years legal experience in NZ, the UK and Middle East. She has a diverse background and experience, including working in senior roles for major NZ and international legal firms. She then worked in-house as the Group Legal (Contracts) Manager for an award winning Middle East financial centre for circa 7 years before returning to NZ to complete an MBA at Otago University.  Melissa joined Silver Fern Farms Limited as General Counsel and Company Secretary earlier this year and is part of the company’s leadership team.  In addition, she acts as the Privacy Officer for the company.

Prior to Kiwi Property, Trevor was General Counsel and Company Secretary for Precinct Properties New Zealand Limited. Precinct is New Zealand’s only NZX-listed city centre specialist investing predominately in premium and A-grade commercial office property.

Trevor's career includes almost 9 years in London with Slaughter and May, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and U.S. firm Gibson Dunn & Crutcher.

Since 2015 Trevor has been a Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and since 2010 he has been a Fellow of Governance New Zealand. Trevor has a Certificate in Company Direction from the Institute of Directors.
